Art Davis has been an independent management consultant in the Chicago area for over 20 years.  He specializes in assisting firms with starting Six Sigma and Lean business process improvement interventions.

Much of Art's work involves training both employees and management in applying appropriate quality and lean enterprise tools and techniques.  His clients range from small private to large public firms such as Comark, Williams/Bally Games, Johnson & Johnson, Motorola, ITW, and Square D.

He is also an educator, having been an assistant professor of industrial management in the Engineering College and later Director of Northern Illinois University's Productivity Project.

Earlier, Art was Director of Programs with the American Productivity Management Association.  In that capacity he assisted member companies with starting quality and productivity interventions. 

He also served as a senior examiner for the Lincoln Foundation for Business Excellence and chaired their public relations committee. He also volunteers his time to SCORE, counselors to small business
